At 19 years old At the age of 19, she dropped Here, her debut single. It went down a storm and received praise from both listeners and critics alike. The single peaked at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Top Songs. That same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts. This includes the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. This track was special due to the Rap-Up interview that she gave many of those who heard her tracks could understand her story of learning to love themselves and doubting her. Cara is known to include messages regarding wellbeing, kindness, and self-love within her music. The inspiration for her music is her own personal experiences as she suffered from mental health problems and insomnia. According to an Reuters interview, she describes her album as half tumultuous and half mastered. Therapy helped her grow and she encourages others to seek treatment if they need it. Alessia Cara is a Canadian performer who was born on July 11 1996 to parents from Italian ethnicity. Her first guitar was given to her by her parents after she reached the age of 10, and that sparked her love for music. When she was 13 she began to cover songs she like on YouTube for the purpose of showing her fans her talent. She also could not resist the opportunity to establish a career as a musician. One of her cover songs Sweater Weather could be the single which got her attention by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to compose and record the songs she composed.
